an honest review of the django
i took my boyfriend to the django for the holidays and while we did have a really solid and fun time, i don’t think we got our bang for our buck. first off, there’s a $35 per person cover fee, as well as a 2 drink minimum. i was fooled by social media into thinking that the 2 drink minimum went TOWARDS the cover fee, but that was not the case. so, when my bf and i got the check expecting something around $80, my heart dropped into my chest when the bill was about $155 (not including tip). this was an unfortunate mixup that is not necessarily anyone’s fault, but still sucked nonetheless. secondly, i felt that the allotted time for the music was pretty short. our reservation was for 10:00, we weren’t sat til probably around 10:15, and we were pretty promptly ushered out around 11:30. this was all expected, as the reservation said that 90 mins was our limit, but given that we were sat 15 minutes late, the musicians (although lovely and incredibly talented) did spend a bit of time chatting with the audience, we probably only got about 40 minutes of music, which, for $150 minimum for a 2 party res, is pretty ridiculous. so, all this to say, i don’t know if i would come back here for the late night shows, maybe the evening show so that i can get some food, but only if someone else is footing the bill. i’m not made of money, and i don’t have dollars to burn on $75ish per person minimum for only 40 minutes of music. 5.5/10
