You and Me, Chinatown, Philadelphia
I’m not sure how to start describing this other than an Asian style market! This enticed myself and daughters to visit for the claw machines, skin care, snack and food items, and blind bag items.
When we first saw the store in Chinatown, we were skeptical. It didn’t look like much from the outside, but when we walked inside, there was a plethora of blind bags, Sonny Angels and fun trinkets on this floor. We walked around the corner and there were claw machines to play as well. Once we explored, we walked down the fun rainbow painted stairs and were met with heaven!
First, we encountered the skin care area. Our only wish was that we knew what was there. Hundreds of products lined the shelves and displays/ but we aren’t familiar with brands to buy! We quickly decided to do some research to return at another time. There were soo many aisles of products and displays, we could easily have spent our entire time in this section alone.
The next area is where I lost my girls… the stationary! I lived my childhood dream of Hello Kitty stationary- pens, pencils, highlighters, notepads, post its, you name it! They had it all! I just browsed and was so overwhelmed! As a teacher, I could have easily spent hundreds of dollars but with a teacher’s summer budget I walked away empty-handed.
My girls were checking out the rest of the downstairs area they were excited about- the snacks! TikTok viral snacks came to life as they walked the aisles of candy, chips, and snacks. My oldest got a frozen mango ice cream treat she’s seen on TikTok and it didn’t disappoint. There were bins of candy, the most random flavors of chips and the Japanese sodas that have the marble inside. Always a hit in our house!
This is definitely a shop to check out, but give yourself enough time and maybe do some research before you go and become overwhelmed like I did!
