World’s Longest Walking Bridge in NY For Free🌉: Day Trip!
Planning a fun day trip from NYC? Look no further! If you’re willing to take the ~2 hour train ride to Poughkeepsie, there’s an incredible free pedestrian walkway spanning 1.28 miles from 212 feet above the water!! 🌉 There’s a free waterfront elevator for those scared of heights and there are gorgeous parks, bike and walking trails on either side of the bridge 🛗 Accessible by all methods of transport: MTA-North train 🚊 (you will have to walk a bit), car 🚙 or bike via the Empire State Trail 🚲 Must-visit for aesthetic nature view chasers and lovers of history 📖 (the bridge was built in 1889), the views and fresh air definitely make the train ride worth it! If you want to make a forever mark, you can also Adopt-a-Light on the Walkway! 💡 ✨Daily from 7 am - 7 pm ✨ 📢 Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park 61 Parker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, USA 📢 For more information about special events on the bridge, visit Walkway Over The Hudson | Best Hudson Va... Note: Make sure to layer up if you go on a colder day, the wind can get quite strong towards the middle of the bridge 💨
