I recently visited the Whitney Museum to see the exhibit on Amy Sherald (showing until August 10th). Amy Sherald is the incredible artist who painted Michelle Obama’s portrait, the center of the exhibit. It was powerful to see the piece in person, along with one of Breonna Taylor. Her works showcasing every day Black Americans was full of depth and emotion. The museum also offers free tickets on Friday nights and the second Sunday of every month. It’s free every day for visitors 25 and under too!
