    Ventfort Hall in Western Massachusetts
If you’re in the Berkshires and craving some historic charm, Ventfort Hall in Lenox Massachusetts should definitely be on your list of places to visit! Opened in 1893, this guilded age mansion hosts self guided tours daily from 10am-4pm (last entry at 3:15pm) and you do not want to miss exploring it if you find yourself in the area! The hall is in active restoration so there is some construction and work being done at all times, but a large portion of the mansion is fully restored. Plus, being able to observe the hall as it is restored allows you to see what the process looks like and the workers are always willing to answer any questions you may have about that process. The hall was commissioned by Sarah Morgan (sister of J.P. Morgan) and it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s filled with exquisite details and vintage charm and strolling around is such a great way to spend an afternoon. They also host ghost tours and other special events throughout the year so if you’re looking for a historic haunt, this also fits the bill! It is $12 for student admission and $20 for adults (there are also several other discount groups listed on their website so check to see if any of those apply to you). Ventfort Hall also functions as a Wedding and Event venue so if you’re looking for a wedding venue or a place to hold a large event, it’s also available for those purposes.
