Used Book Store: Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni’s Room
I was around Jefferson Hospital and decided to stop at this really cute used book store/thrift store on Pine St. It was a such a great find. They had used and new books, records, dvds, and a whole floor of queer literature.
The store had cute knick knacks, posters, board games and clothing for sale at a decent price, but the books caught my eye real quick. The first floor is divided into two rooms. The first room has user books on art, sculpture, architecture, photography, music, gardening, cookbooks, and entertainment. The room is also housing records, dvds, and 99 cent books. The second room has used books on fiction, mystery&thriller, history, psychology, sociology, history, memoirs, and poetry. The room also had clothing, bags, shoes, game books and comic books. Now we go to second floor which is divided into used queer literature, new queer YA and fiction books, and an 18+ adult books. And finally the third floor has a tiny section of rare and foreign language books.
I absolutely loved this cute little book store and was looking around for at least a two hours lost in between all the shelves of books. Also another secret, if the book has been on the shelf for 3 months its 25% off the sticker price, if the book has been on the shelf for 6 months its 50% off the sticker price, and the last Tuesday of each month is 25% of everything.
Also found a flyer that there is going to be a book fair on Saturday, May 10th at Cartesian Brewing. If anyone is going hit me up, because I will once gained be on the lookout for more used books to buy!🙈
