Went on the Chinatown Underground tour with Chinatown Legacy Tour which included a 2 hour walking tour around Chinatown and hearing stories about the different gangs that existed in the 70s to 90s and the violence that occured. Our tour guide Roger actually grew up in Chinatown and had friends who were part of the Flying Dragon gang and had so many interesting personal stories, including of the one where he and his friends were shot at by rival gangs 😱 My favorite part was when we could speak to an ex gang member and ask him questions and hear about his gang experience. We also got to visit the famous Chinatown Fight Club which used to be the HQ of Flying Dragon gang. This was one of my favorite things I’ve done in NYC and would recommend it to anyone interested in NYC history and doing something different.
