Tiki Disco at The Knockdown Center - Queens
Last summer, I had a blast at the Knockdown Center in Queens for a Tiki Disco event. The venue itself was a mix of outdoor and indoor spaces, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. The outdoor area was where most of the action happened, but the upstairs section offered a great vantage point to look out over the crowd below. It also featured its own bar area, so you could grab drinks while enjoying the view. Getting there was a bit of a trek from the train, though I believe there’s a bus that stops nearby, which might make the trip easier. When we arrived, we found a food truck selling fries and chicken tenders, so naturally, we grabbed some. The portions were generous and satisfying, a perfect fuel-up before diving into the party. The heart of the event was downstairs in the “ruins,” where the DJ set up shop. The space was absolutely packed, but the energy was electric. The vibes were great, with everyone dancing and having a good time. As the evening went on, the party atmosphere leveled up. There were laser lights that changed colors in sync with the music, and even smoke machines added a cool, club-like effect to the crowd. For those who needed a break from the dance floor, there was a cozy area with bean bags where you could sit and relax. It was a nice touch to have a chill spot to unwind before jumping back into the fun. I heard that Tiki Disco is hosting an upcoming winter party indoors at the same venue, and while I’m curious how the vibe will compare to the summer event, they’re such a fun group that it’s bound to be a good time. You can RSVP for the party through the Dice App, and I believe it’s free to reserve your spot. If it’s anything like last summer, it’s definitely worth checking out!
