  • The Demon Barber of Fleet Street!
If you're not one for the brightly colored, happy-go-lucky energy of many Broadway shows this sinister tale is for you. Traditional Broadway at its finest with little to distract from the actors themselves.  I wish I could have seen this production in October because it sets a spooky mood but alas as it is leaving Broadway soon don’t wait!  The music felt very operatic, almost gospel esk. The story takes place in nineteenth-century London and the costumes reflect that period in all drab and darker colors save for Sweeney Todd's daughter in her pretty pinks.  For me, the actress who played Mrs. Lovett made the show. She was quick-witted, comical, and very talented.  This show has stuck with me and kept me thinking. I would definitely recommend taking in the infamous tale of Sweeney Todd before it leaves Broadway.
