Went to see Suffs on Broadway- the musical that details the road for women’s suffurage and the passing of the amendment allowing women to vote. The story itself is super interesting and I didn’t really know about it- we are taught about leaders in the movement like Susan b Anthony but this story takes place a few generations later and I didn’t really know the details of the struggle and the stories of women involved- that was great to learn. I found the first half to be a little boring/repetitive/drawn out- the songs sounded mostly the same to me and not a lot happened in the story. but the second half was more engaging. Everyone else I went with seemed to love it a lot more than me and it’s up for a bunch of awards- so maybe my taste isn’t the popular one. I’m glad I went and it was a nice evening- but it just wasn’t a show I would rave about/eager to go back.
