The center is located in beautiful Fairmount park and truly feels like an authentic piece of Japanese culture in the city. The koi pond, garden, and exhibit of a traditional Japanese home are very well cared for. There are even some statues and murals from Japan sent to philly from a little while back. The koi pond has some of the largest koi fish I’ve ever seen and so many of them! They’re so friendly and were the highlight of my trip. Even the staff are very welcoming and make sure the grounds are being respected by visitors without intruding on the experience. Bonus points for a cute and affordable gift shop too!
