We took the train from grand central to tarrytown (45 min) and then walked 20 min to sleepy hollow! It was pretty easy to do and we had great weather. We didn’t think there was much to do, the town was decorated for Halloween and you could book tours of the cemetery and estates ahead of time but they were all sold out for us. We ended up walking around and going into various shops and eating lunch which was still very nice, but wouldn’t come back. Definitely get on the train early because they ran out of seats and some people had to stand the whole trip! I would rather have gone hiking by Beacon or Cold Springs.
