This past weekend, my bf and I went to Tutuland in Boston to make our own custom rugs! It was actually a lot easier than we thought it would be, and there were instructors there to help out along the way. 🖌️ We started off by choosing our designs and colors (you can bring any picture on your phone to turn into a rug) and then traced the design onto canvas 🧶 We practiced using the tufting gun, and then we started to work on our own rugs! I made a medium rug ($108) and my bf made a small rug ($78) 🏷️ On their website they say to budget 3-3.5 hours for a medium rug, but it only took me about 1.5. I'm sure it could have taken longer if I had chosen a more intricate design though. After we finished tufting, the instructors made the final touches on our rugs and we were able to take them home right away! I had such a great time and would definitely recommend this for a date night, activity with friends or even as a solo date. While it is a bit expensive, I think the experience as a whole was worth it — at times we even spend that much on dinner, so having something tangible to take home is much more satisfying to me.
