Shows at Pier 17 are sooo much fun! Even in the rain! 😂 I went to my first outdoor concert of the season this week and it was Mayday Parade at Pier 17 which is a rooftop venue in the seaport. It has beautiful views of the river and both Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines! Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and it started raining at the very beginning of the show. There is a large inside area with bathrooms that you can get out of the weather for a bit if it’s bad but they also gave out free rain ponchos which were a life saver! Since it wasn’t too cold and we had ponchos it was actually a really great time! The venue is really big and there is plenty of room - it feels full and lively without feeling too crowded. You can see the stage well from anywhere you stand and even see the Brooklyn bridge through the stage area. Tickets are kinda pricey, but they’re the going rate for show in New York these days! There are lots of (slightly overpriced) drinks and food for sale. A summer in NY isn’t competere without a live outdoor show and Pier 17 is a great spot to see some live music in a really unique setting!
