QC Spa in Governor’s Island (late Monday)
Yeah! I did it! It was spontaneous so I paid for a $4 ferry ride from Atlantic Ave (pier 6 in Brooklyn) to Governor’s Island (Bay Ridge Limited). But that ferry stop is 10 minutes away from the spa. There is another ferry on Governor’s Island only 3 minutes from the spa and it is free (it goes to south street in Manhattan).
My pro tip is if you are going on the weekdays (Mon-Thurs), just try walk in. I didn’t because of paranoia but I would especially as a solo or duo.
I would recommend doing 5 hours instead of 3 due to cost maximize cost and experience.
The rain started just as I entered the facility so it took a while to enjoy the outdoor spaces. Plus the gardens and some places were closed for renovations.
It is indeed beautiful and will probably be the place to be during the summer. From 4-8 pm, it was relatively packed. There weren’t lines per se but you had to wait to get space in some saunas, footbaths, showers and more. So I recommend going even earlier. Another related thing is that sometimes you have to wait a little for things to get refilled ex: the lotions near the face infrared station, the scrubs near the vichy showers.
The robes don’t have pockets so you will depend on your provided bag to carry stuff or bring a fanny pack.
Make sure to get your apple a day and please hydrate with all the waters they provide.
