This May, I’m using AAPI Heritage Month as an excuse to splurge on AAPI-owned businesses. I recently tried Tea Lab for the first time. It is located in Plantation, FL ~25 minutes west of downtown Fort Lauderdale. My drink was so delicious, I came back the next day. And the day after that, too. The prices and flavors here are SO good, and that’s why this might be my new favorite bubble tea place. The original milk tea with boba costs under $7 even after taxes. This is the drink that made me decide this might be my favorite boba place. Another day, I ordered a ~$7 taro & ube milk tea with boba added (first photo). It was just as delicious as the other. You can see from the photo that the boba texture was a little squishier this day, but it wasn’t bad at all. I love this drink and would order it the exact same way again. I hope you can see from my photos that Tea Lab isn’t cheaping out on how much boba they give you. My partner once ordered a mango pomelo w/ sago slushie, and he loves it because it has a lot of Asian-y textures and flavors (his words). He gives it a 12 out of 10. 😆 Pros: 👍 Boba texture is perfect 95% of the time 👍 Incredible flavor 👍 Gorgeous inside 👍 Price for the size 👍 Seasonal specials 👍 Open late (10/11pm) 👍 Coupon/Rewards card they stamp Cons: 👎 No oolong milk tea 👎 I wasn’t asked about my preferred sweetness level, but it can probably be customized (idk) So overall, yeah, this may be my favorite boba spot in all of Florida.
