Pay-As-You-Wish Mondays and Saturdays at the Guggenheim
🖼️Next on my “Never Pay Full Price at a Museum” series are Mondays and Saturdays at The Guggenheim Museum. Pay-What-You-Wish hours are 4 to 5:30 pm and tickets are sold in advance online. Since the minimum is $1 tickets tend to sell out fast.
🐶 During my visit, a docent revealed that there was a dog originally painted into Pablo Picasso’s “Le Moulin de la Galette," that had since been painted over. Museum conservators worked with scientists using a spectrograph to discover an adorable King Charles Cocker Spaniel. It has yet to be known why Picasso would paint over a cute dog.
🍸If you miss the Pay as you Wish days at the Guggenheim, you can get more bang for your buck by attending their Late Shifts that often have interactive activities such as drawing and collage making in the Make Easy. Starting at $35,
the next Late Shift will be on Thursday, February 13th with a cash bar for drinks and refreshments.
