Oscar Wilde was an incredible experience!!
Yesterday, I took my fiancé out on a dinner date to Oscar Wilde restaurant in downtown Manhattan and let me say, it’ll be an understatement if I said that it was anything under spectacular. From the serve to the decor, everything was absolutely perfect. That’s including the customers. It couldn’t have been any better even if the food was free!
First, allow me to give praise to the service! They were super polite and welcoming. They constantly went out their way to check on us. Asking if everything was to our liking. Just super friendly but it wasn’t in a way in which it was overbearing. The servers gave a vibe in which made us feel as if we were simply having dinner over at a friend’s house.
Second, the decor was IMMACULATE! Decorated with nothing but the best ghouls and goblins, anywhere you lay an eye there was something to be spooked by. It wasn’t only inside. From before even entering the doors you can see mechanical 12ft tall skeletons dressed as the Reaper with their glowing red eyes ready to strike you at any moment. As soon as you enter, there are killer clowns, skeletons, skulls, ghosts. Anything you can imagine to bring the spirit of Halloween to life was in that restaurant.
The menu was fantastic as well. It wasn’t too many options nor was there too little. You can pick from a good amount of choices, all at a reasonable price and perfect servicing size. I, myself had the Fish and Chips. The fish was beer battered and fried to a perfect golden brown with a beautiful crunch on the outside but light and airy on the inside causing a great balance not making the meal too filling but leaving you satisfied. Paired with these thin but crispy fries. So delicious. My drink of choice was also Halloween themed, “Bathilda Bagshot”. My fiancé on the other hand had the Lobster Risotto. It was so rich in flavor, very creamy, light and she said that there wasn’t a single bite that did not have lobster in it. She described her meal to be “Perfect.”
