    New York marble cemetery
The New York Marble Cemetery feels like a VIP Manhattan spot as it’s only open to the public 10-12 days a year. The cemetery is New York’s oldest non-denominational cemetery, and what makes it unique is that it doesn’t look like a cemetery at all. It looks like many of New York’s community gardens, because of its lack of headstones which creates an open field of flowers and trees. Instead, the tall marble walls that hide the cemetery in between 2nd and 3rd streets feature large white marble plaques that name the people buried there. Deep below the ground are the sealed off 156 burial vaults where their bodies are stored.
