Held during Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-26) , Dance Africa, located at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, is an annual celebration of arts and culture centered around the African Diaspora. I highly recommend experiencing the incredible environment within the theater by attending one of the dance performances available. Every year a dance group from a different country is featured in the performance, with this year’s group coming from Mozambique. It’s also super fun to to just walk through the fair that takes place right outside the theater and take in the level of craftsmanship displayed (from clothing and self-care products to jewelry and art) while you munch on goodies from the many food options.
