My favorite art from The Met
    1) Ugolino and his sons: This piece describes the story of Ugolino from Dante’s Inferno. Count Ugolino is accused of treason and locked in a tower with his sons and grandsons and starved to death. Made famous by becoming one of the damned souls in Dante’s poem the Inferno. 2) Andromeda and the Sea Monster: Andromeda, Daughter of the Ethiopian Queen Cassiopeia, was left chained to a rock to be devoured by a sea monster as a way to atone for her mother’s sin (insulting the sea nymphs). Pictures is the moment she spots Greek hero Perseus who saves her and wins her hand in marriage. 3)The Birth of Venus: The story of Venus being birthed from sea foam painted by Alexandre Cabanel. 4) A lovely gentleman sketching!
