    My First Glassblowing Experience!
I discovered a new activity in Boston: glassblowing! Make sure to book your session in advance—online schedules are available. A 3-hour, 2-person session costs 💲299 (cash gets a 10% discount). You can make about 3 small items; I created a crystal purple gummy bear straw, a jar, and a magnet. Typically, the magnet is the first project to practice on, but you can also choose from a variety of items, like keychains, shot glasses, and other small to medium-sized pieces. Eric was so nice! He patiently explained each step, carefully observing the process to see if we needed help, and supporting us in bringing our artwork visions to life. My friend wanted to make a thick straw for boba, and he went around searching for the right size, offering suggestions. He’s also a part-time professor at MIT and Harvard—such a win for us! I felt like I was back in college, reliving the art class moments in the studio. The glass has to be picked up the next day because it’s fragile, but they wrapped it up really well. If it’s inconvenient for you to pick it up, they can even mail it! The charm of handmade items is that they’re one-of-a-kind and so much fun. I can’t wait to go again next time!
