My Favorite Italian Spot in the West Village! (for now)
I took my friend out to eat to thank her for helping me scout out apartment spaces in New York before I moved here. The original restaurant we picked was booked out aside from the bar, which did not have backings and was therefore inaccessible to me. Thankfully, the West Village has plenty of restaurants and my friend found this one called Fiaschetteria Pistoia.
The food was quite delicious! We split a burrata and then I had the gnocchi as it’s my favorite kind of pasta. The place is pretty small so seats are limited but I also read they don’t take reservations so it’s at least worth a shot to stop by and see if it’s open. Please note that the prices are still West Village restaurant level, though I’d say I left more full and satisfied than at L’Artusi. Also my clothes smelled like the restaurant afterward so just be wary that its small nature means that the scents will linger.
Overall, I’d go here again! As I often make Italian from home, I don’t necessarily see me going out of my way for it, but if I’m trying to find a restaurant in the village I might come back here. They also have a location in eastern Manhattan as well.
