Everything you should know about Luna Luna
It’s expensive. I hear you. $65 per ticket. Before you click off, I have to say it was one of the most memorable and magical experiences of my life. If you are an art lover or a history buff, you’ll probably love it as much as I did.
What’s Luna Luna? To simplify as much as possible André Heller got together the greatest artists of their time—Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Salvador Dalí to name a few—and each artist created amusement park rides and installations. Luna Luna ran in 1987 in Germany and then was abruptly shut down and stowed away in storage containers in Texas since. This is the first time that it’s been seen since the 80s. It’s supposed to only run until January.
I was skeptical at first, $65 is a lot of money for rides you can’t even ride on. However, experiencing the art in motion from the greatest artists, in my opinion ever, is a truly magical experience. Accompanied by music composed specifically for Luna Luna, costumed dancers and performers keep the environment lively, reminding you what it would have been like in 1987. Again, this probably isn’t worth it for everyone but it was 100% worth it for me!
