Italian Hidden Gem
📍Regalia – Chicago, IL
I’ve been to a lot of Italian spots in Chicago, and let’s just say, if you’re heading downtown, they’re not exactly modest. While I do enjoy the lavish Italian experience after a long workday, there’s something special about finding a smaller, more intimate place where the food isn’t just authentic—it’s rooted in the actual teachings of Italian cuisine and service.
Regalia delivered exactly that. I really enjoyed my dining experience. The portions were generous, definitely enough for leftovers. From the sauces to the seasoning, everything is made in-house, and you can taste the difference.
If you’re thinking about dessert, I loved the simplicity of their vanilla gelato with homemade chocolate sauce. But if you’re a cheesecake person, keep your eye on the Italian cheesecake—it’s flambéed tableside and melts in your mouth. I only observed it, but it definitely has viral potential for anyone who loves a show with their sweets.
