If you love trying new foods and supporting small businesses, you’ll love Sweet Aloha Ice Cream in Davie, Florida - located west of Fort Lauderdale Beach. It’s an AAPI-owned small business that will make you want to come back again and again.
Sweet Aloha has 24 standard flavors of which 6+ are sugar-free. They make over 309 flavors that rotate in 28 flavor spots. Plus, they typically have four non-dairy and two sorbet flavor options. Some of the sugar-free and lactose-free flavors may not be on display, so be sure to ask.
I’ve been to Sweet Aloha many times, but I only recently tried their $9.95 ice cream sampler/flight.
My partner and I went with an islandy flavor theme for our ice cream flight. We chose lychee sorbet*, mango, ube, and hula pie*. (* = seasonal flavor.) His favorites were in that exact order, and my favorites were in the opposite order. 😆 I prefer chocolaty flavors over fruity flavors, and I loved how the hula pie’s creamy macadamia nut cream texture contrasted with the cookie crust texture.
If you don’t try the sampler, scoops of their ice cream is a great way to go. Ice cream prices are basically $3.89-4.89/scoop and $10.95/pint. This pricing is on par with or slightly less than comparable ice cream places I’ve tried in the area.
Oh, and their shaved ice is AMAZING. Very cravable. I talk about it more in this S’more post:
