Hutong is an upscale Chinese restaurant located right across the Bloomberg Office. It’s a classy place so expect to spend a decent amount. I am a vegetarian so my options were somewhat limited, but still pretty decent. My favorite savory item there was the shiitake mushroom bao bun! Absolutely delicious. We ordered mapo tofu and fried rice as the veg mains which was not bad, you might find better places to eat these. The show stopped though was the dessert. Or should I say desserts? We ordered the Dessert Bowl, which was served over a bed of dry ice. They were all absolutely delicious and we loved the presentation. The dessert alone cost us $60 but we were 6 people and were able to finish it off without leaving anything behind. I would certainly come back here only for the bao bun and the dessert though! Certainly worth checking out at least a few times to try the different menu items, especially if you eat mean!
