🤔 Trying the indoor restaurant section of Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor is an interesting experience.
🍿 Guests are offered complimentary popcorn. It came out quickly and tasted like the buttery popcorn I enjoy at home.
🥤 Jaxson’s offers a variety of house-made sodas. We tried the root beer. For $4.50, the cup portions are massive (hello??), and the root beer was refreshingly tasty. I would totally order it again.
🍔 I was expecting the burger to be massive at a $19 price point and because of the massive drink cup sizes. The burger was smaller than I was expecting. By that, I mean that it was regular-sized. The burger tasted pretty good, but not like the price. The burger tasted like if you went to a family reunion at a park and your uncle Jim who “makes the BEST burgers” cooked everybody some burgers, and it tastes great because your uncle Jim made it. The meat didn’t taste like it just came off the grill (and the restaurant wasn’t busy, and we didn’t order other food), and needed some salt and pepper.
💸 This burger was, like, $19 ($24 with the fries). The cheese was an additional $1.95, and it tasted like… cheese. This entree was very expensive for what it was. 😵💫 But if you consider the fact that parking is free and the air conditioning is refreshing, then the price feels a tad more reasonable.
🍦 Ice cream review:
THE ice cream icon of Fort Lauderdale | ...
⚖️ While I respect this restaurant as a local gem, my verdict is I probably won’t dine at the restaurant again unless I’m coming with tourists who have deep pockets and an appreciation for longstanding family-owned businesses.
