Gangnam Market
One of my favorite things to do when traveling abroad is poking around in foreign grocery stores. Visiting @gangnammarket.chicago lets you have a similar experience all from Chicago! The Asian Market sells a wide variety of international foods as well as unique flavors of familiar brands that you can’t usually get in the US. There are lots of opportunities for kids (and adults!) to expand their gastronomical horizons!
While you’re there, stop for lunch, a coffee drink, or a cocktail at @gangnamfoodhall. There’s ramen, Korean tacos, rice bowls, sushi, and Chinese pastries. If you’re in a hurry, you can order ahead and pick up.
The Best Parts:
•While primarily an Asian grocery, they also have standard American food if you need to pick up some other familiar groceries.
•There’s a parking garage that’s free with validation.
•The photo booths, Japanese capsule toys, claw games, and cotton candy machines provide some entertainment for kids and help visitors to feel like they’re having a unique experience vs. just going to a normal grocery store.
Follow their pages to learn about some of their unique special events too!
