Arc'teryx is sponsoring many climbing community events with the Bouldering Project in Brooklyn, one of which is Free Climb on the last Friday of the month, from 6 to 10 pm. They also have free shoe rental as well if you don't have climbing shoes. The facility is amazing and the employees were very nice. They have many climbing walls with different difficulties. There were also a speed climbing wall, cardio machines and a climbing room for kids as well. The downside is that the event was very crowded. The line wrapped around the block and when I finally got inside they didn't have my shoe size for rent so I couldn't try climbing. I did get a snack on the house, a delicious cup of five spices pork with rice, so I was not too sad.
