Head over to Roosevelt Island at the park on the south end to visit this awesome art exhibition. CJ Hendry is, in my personal opinion, one of the more skillful and realistic color pencil artists at the moment. In addition to being able to see her hyper realistic color pencil drawings, you can pick one of the 100k felt flowers that have been created for this event. There are 21 varieties of flowers you can pick and everyone who visits does get one for free. After that the flowers retail for $5 a piece as well as other merchandise that can be purchased at a higher price point. I would recommend going early and taking the skyway over. The park the exhibition is in doesn’t open till 9 am. I got there at 8:45 and there was around 20 people there and I ended up around that point in line when we moved to the outside of the exhibition at 9 am. The line was basically wrapped around the park at 10am when it opened so it doesn’t hurt to go early and bring a book.
