During the fall, I took a day trip to Sam’s Point area of Minnewaska State Park in upstate New York. The weather was very warm for fall and the views were very good. It was a short hike to Sam’s point from the parking lot and then we took a walk out along the top of the ridge which took an hour each way. The views and foliage were not at peak yet but still very beautiful! You need to reserve a parking spot if you are driving to the park which can be done online for $10.
