Exploring Historic Deerfield in Western Mass
One of my favorite things of all time is touring historic buildings and Historic Deerfield in Western Massachusetts has so many to explore. I’ve been there probably around 3 times and each time I’ve had so much fun wandering around and exploring the town. There are several historic homes from the 1700s and the 1800s that you are able to walk through. The details inside the houses are amazing and it’s so cool to see the historic architecture up close! Even if you don’t pay for a ticket to go and explore the houses, it’s truly worth the visit! The main street walk is so beautiful, especially in the fall as the leaves crunch under your feet and the sun shines down on you. There’s also a nature trail that passes directly next to an animal enclosure so you can admire some farm animals and get some great views of the Pioneer Valley. All in all, I definitely suggest checking out Historic Deerfield. It’s a great stop in and of itself and it’s also a great detour if you’re driving up to Vermont or Canada as it’s not too far off of I-91.
