🧴I needed to refill my body wash and lotion from Element Brooklyn (smells SO good) before my trip abroad and found out that I could refill my satchets (great for luggage) at Maison Jar in Greenpoint. ♻️I haaaate plastic. Plastic packaging, plastiware, plastic bottles. Sure plastic is ✌🏾’recyclable’✌🏾(hint: most of it isn’t and goes to the landfill) - but it takes up space in my recycling bin and I can’t NOT imagine it ending up in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. This low waste ‘refill-ery’ and grocery store is a “one-stop-shop for food, personal care, and home essentials.” ⚖️Just BYO container (don’t we have SO many jars?), weigh it, fill it, and weigh it again for your price at the checkout counter. Refill everything from loose spices, cereals and grains, and coffee beans to body care and cleaning products. If you got too many glass containers at home to know what to do with, you can even drop them off here for other customers to use! I found a mini Aesop hand wash bottle that I’ll refill to let house guests think I’m rich. 🤣
