Cold Spring NY | Perf Day trip no car needed!
Solo trips and connecting with nature is necessary !!! My experience was cathartic, nostalgic and challenging. Nature truly heals! Getting out of your comfort zone is necessary. If you’re feeling stuck or longing to connect with yourself again then go somewhere that allows you to not be distracted and allows you to be fully present and free. 📍Cold Spring NY 🚉 - Metro North Train $30.00 round trip ticket from Grand Central Station (1hr & 25 min commute) 👟- Everything is walking distance!!!! The walk from train station into the DT area is no more than a 5-10 minute walk. Felt a lot quicker! The walk to the actual mountain is 16min-20min. Mainly flat land getting there until, the hike starts. ☕️🥯- I started with a quick and small bite that was recommended by the first local I connected with hehe. He recommended “Cold Spring Coffee House”. My iced latte was delicious and the BEC kept me full my entire hike. They have an outdoor patio that’s cute. 🫂- I felt safe the entire time. A lot of people are visiting from Manhattan and nearby so I never felt unsafe. It’s not overcrowded either and everyone was respectful on the trail. 🍪- Angie’s bake shop was recommended by another local I was chatting with. The cookies were worth the hype and gooey inside🤤 🍣- I wanted to eat a nice restaurant afterwards but I ended up stopping at Foodmart to pick up some fruit and the Sushi ended up being fresh and yummy. There’s a man who makes them on the spot in the back near the sushi stand. Can’t wait to come back & try out other restaurants! My breakfast & sushi filled me up so I wasn’t hungry enough to sit down & eat a meal. Overall, lovely experience & amazing for a day trip from JC/NYC✨ It’s recommended to bring 2 liters of water. I got away with my tall S|M tervis & a Life Water sized water bottle. I ended up sharing my water with 2 girlies I met mid hike so that goes to show how much water was enough for me. Bring snacks just in case! SummerHikingtime
