Go Tufting NYC is in LIC (~15 min walk from any subway) and they offer tufting classes (rugs, mirrors, coasters), as well as, fluid bear painting! The price is $180 for the coaster making class, which includes two coasters. Initially I thought this was a bit expensive, but after realizing the class was FOUR HOURS - it definitely made more sense. The studio is cozy and you really feel as if you are at home making the craft. You should come with two designs in mind. You will trace them on the canvas, pick the colors, learn how to load the tufting gun and get to work. You start the class with a quick demo and then there’s a lot of independent time to work on the coasters which I liked.
