Best seafood I’ve ever had in NYC 👀 | Abuqir @ Astoria
Little did I know the best seafood I’ve ever had in NYC is tucked away in this unassuming restaurant in Astoria called “Abuqir”. The place was pretty packed, which was a good sign since this wasn’t easy to get to without a car so the people were definitely there for the food. I was blown away by how perfectly cooked the seafood was, especially the octopus - it was cooked to PERFECTION 🤌🏼The sauce is a mixture of spices (not sure what kind, I’m guessing Egyptian), olive oil, and garlic. 🐙🦪🦐 Inside the store, the order counter is a display of fresh seafood on ice and you can order exactly what seafood you want (fish, clams, shrimp, scallop, lobster, etc / how much you want / how you’d like it cooked. After you order, you just take a seat and wait! The chefs really know what they’re doing because we absolutely LOVED everything. Note: the octopus was a little pricey, but the rest isn’t too bad. I heard the fish is amazing but didn’t end up trying it this time - @Hibye and I will be back for sure!

@Cara i think it depends on what you order! the scallop/shrimp were not too bad (octopus was expensive - i think $30-$35). I’d estimate around $50-$60 per person
