  • Beginner-friendly β€˜20s Themed Costume Sketch Night πŸ’ƒπŸΌβœοΈπŸ“”πŸΈ
I’m essentially a beginner to figure drawing but had a great time at Sketch Night at the Society of Illustrators. They have figure drawing with nude models as well as costumed sketch night where the models wear themed clothing. The one I attended was 1920s themed! The session is two hours but broken down into a few warmups and shorter poses to draw then one longer one at the end. There was a very brief introduction but then got right into drawing. I have never done live drawing before but this was definitely beginner friendly! There were lots of people there that were extremely talented and using paints or other medium, but I just brought some sketching pencils and a sketchbook which was totally fine. It cost $20 to sign up which goes to the host and models, so I thought it was worth it. There is also a cash bar and an outdoor patio to explore. The rest of the building is a museum and is open earlier in the day.
