Plans gone wrong, IMPROVISE!
Step 1: Dinner at Mitr Thai
If you’re craving Thai food and have a big group, Mitr Thai in Manhattan is a great option—but heads up, there are some rules. Reservations are a must, and they won’t seat your group until everyone has arrived. Oh, and don’t be late—reservations are only held for 15 minutes. We learned this the hard way during a friend’s birthday celebration when a couple of us got delayed by work. They wouldn’t seat us until the whole squad showed up, which was a little frustrating.
Once seated, though, the food makes up for it. Everything was amazing! The flavors are top-notch, and you’ll leave talking about the meal for days. Just keep in mind there’s a time limit on how long you can stay, so plan accordingly to avoid feeling rushed.
Step 2: Cake Cutting at Rockefeller Center
Pro tip: Skip bringing a cake to Mitr Thai—they charge a hefty fee to cut it. Instead, do what we did! After dinner, we took the cake to Rockefeller Center and had a windy (but memorable!) outdoor celebration. There’s something so special about enjoying the city lights while cutting a cake with friends, even if the weather adds a little drama.
It’s a fun night out that combines amazing food and iconic NYC vibes—just make sure your group’s punctual and ready for a little adventure!
