BABE: An Off Broadway ode to feminism
Thank you @S’more City for this tried and true experience!
I got to watch the soft opening of Babe, which officially opens November 20 and runs until December 22. The director announced before the show that the script is still under development and may change nightly until the official opening.
In my opinion, the play started weak but built up in the second half. We sat in the balcony first row but the theater was so small that there were no bad seats. There are only three cast members and they sometimes double roles. The change in environment and musical score will help you identify when that happens.
The show focuses on female corporate empowerment in the entertainment business and rides on the me too wave. I think it’s great there is more focus on that. Although the show felt like a work in progress I think the final product will be really strong.
