Artsy day trip from the city!
Spend a day exploring the Dia Museum at Beacon located along the banks of the Hudson River. Take the Metro North to Beacon station. It's an 8-10 minute walk from there!
Recommend taking a small detour to explore the downtown area. There’s a bunch of cute coffee shops, bars, breweries and vintage stores. We strolled around the downtown area, grabbed a bite and walked over to the museum.
The highlight of the museum is that the setup allows for loads of natural light to fall on the art installations, making it interesting to study the interaction between art and light. It's a great place for photographers to capture the dynamic play between light, art and architecture! My favorite installations were Steve McQueen and Richard Serra!
Tip: MTA has a seasonal Dia Beacon Package with discounted train + admission tickets. Check out their website for more details.
