AYCE Wagyu Hot Pot 😋📍Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House Flushing
My go-to bbq spot, “99 Favor Taste” closed in Flushing 😢 This new wagyu hot pot restaurant has taken over. I was super excited when I found out they offer bone marrow because that’s usually hard to find in nyc restaurants. We made a reservation online, but still had to wait about 10 mins to get seated. It’s actually pretty nice inside.
This hot pot offers 4 different dining packages: $38pp Basic, $48pp Silver, $68pp Gold, and $88pp Diamond. For two people, you can choose up to two broths for a shared pot.
All of the dining packages come with a selection of carpaccio, unlimited nigiri, unlimited beverages, wagyu meats, chicken, pork, and mochi ice cream for dessert. The higher levels obviously come with more options, such as unlimited seafood and special menu items.
We ended up going with the silver package, which turned out to be A LOT of food for us. We didn’t eat chicken, pork, or a lot of the seafood, and we were still struggling to finish our food at the end 😩 For the broths, we ordered the “House Broth” and “spicy miso”. The broths were okay… I expected them to be more flavorful. I didn’t like the house broth much, but the spicy miso was better.
The salmon and yellowtail carpaccio were amazinggg. The bone marrow didn’t turn out to be as great as I had hoped 😩 I enjoyed the wagyu meats and the corner of the restaurant where we picked up veggies 🍄🌽 to add to our pot. There was also a sauce station which I felt could’ve had more options. I loved the matcha mochi we received at the end!
Overall, I thought this was an okay hot pot location. The service was great but I had higher expectations for the food. I’d love to find another hot spot place that has better broths
