Outside of the traditional drinks and vibes w my friends last summer, I sought out a creative outlet. My friend’s aunt has a cute studio in Union City where she teaches a 4 week summer course for $200, this included 2+ hours of teaching per class and clay! The instructor is super kind and patient, truly made me fall in love w the art. She is from a native town in Salvador where pottery is sacred, and so with the class you also get a semi-history lesson on the art of pottery. I loved it so much that I even bought my own wheel. If you’re looking for a lighthearted studio to learn about real pottery this is it! There are also ton of cute restaurants nearby for the hunger that settles in after class.
