Location: Shirokuro in the East Village I had high expectations for this spot as the first 2D restaurant in Manhattan. The decor is cute for a photo-op. However, the food was very mid. This is a sushi restaurant. We ordered three rolls for $31 and they seemed like the store-bought kind that they plated and upcharged. And while the staff was nice, no one paid enough attention to refill our water cups (had to ask multiple times after they were empty for a while). We didn’t order alcohol, but perhaps if you do go, just get a drink because the food is not worth it.
