I recommend parking in the residential streets of Jim Thorpe and walking just under a mile to the train ticket booth. Train ride in the fall season is about 45 minutes long. Best views are on the left side of the train (left side when you get on the train). You can explore the quaint town of Jim Thorpe before or after the train ride.
