🧘♀️St.Marks Yoga: beautiful space, higher level yoga
I went to St.Marks Yoga for a morning yoga session before work in NoHo and I was captured by the space. There are several studios inside the brick building. The room is gorgeous, the large windows around the space, the breeze coming in brushing through the plants and into the studio. Beautiful.
I would say, I wasn’t a huge fan of the yoga practice. I did a class with Casey, and you can tell that she is experienced and confident in her skills, but I feel a bit exhausted after the session. Now, this is definitely not a class for beginners, a lot of Casey’s instructions were verbal and in a faster pace than I expected a morning class would be. I think this will be good for more experienced yoga practitioners who can flow with the instructions and not feel dragged by it.
I appreciated that the studio provided mats, cleaning supplies, and blocks for use. It has a bathroom and two small changing spaces, but no shower. I liked that it is a popular yoga spot, lots of people there even for a Monday morning!
I love the space, I don’t think I will return, but I think it will be worth it to try it out if you are into higher level yoga practices, even if just for being in the presence in that zen environment.
