one of our favorite ways to spend the evening after grabbing dinner is to enjoy the sunset and waterfront views at little island (pier 55, hudson river park between 13th&14th) with the nearby chelsea market and pier 55 dining hall, it makes for a perfect place to digest and enjoy the rest of the evening! we stumbled across the island just as the counterfeit opera (a beggar’s opera for a grifter’s city) performance was starting at the amph which piqued our interest. the show (about 1hr 45min) follows an antihero in an entertaining satire about political corruption. tickets for the show are available for $25 (general admission seating) and $10 standing rail tickets, and it’ll be running until june 15th! you can see more events that will be hosted at the little island on their website. the island is usually open from 6am to 12am. the park itself is always beautiful to walk through, and makes for a fun spot to hang with friends as the weather gets warmer for the summer :-) littleisland thecounterfeitopera
