🌍 try out authentic ethiopian food @ massawa 🇪🇹
my sister & i had a delightful lunch at 🔥massawa💛 the ethiopian gem on the uws!
we went for the derho hiwas🍗, a chicken dish served with collard greens, red lentils, & traditional flatbread on the side. the flatbread was unlike anything we’ve had before — it looked & felt like a crepe but tasted exactly like sourdough! so unique & flavorful. 🫓
we also tried the beef tebsi 🥩 — & wow, the beef was so tender & packed with flavor. it came with a cabbage stew & rice 🍚, which the perfect pairing. definitely my favorite! the combination of textures & flavors was incredible.
the only downside was the portion size — especially for around $16 — i was hoping for a bit more protein, but honestly, it was still so tasty & felt like an authentic experience.
we really loved stepping out of our comfort zone to try something new! definitely recommend if you're looking to explore 🇪🇹ethiopian cuisine😋!
