🌇 The Met Rooftop Closes October 19th! 🌅
🌅 One of the Upper East Side’s most iconic rooftops closes October 19 until 2030. The Cantor Roof Garden and Bar on the fifth floor of Metropolitan Museum of Art will be closed for renovations for the next 5 years. With the next week of clear and sunny weather, don’t miss your chance to see skyline views of Central Park South and Billionaire’s Row. The views are particularly spectacular at sunset. 🌆 I went on a Saturday late afternoon and the lines to enter the Met and take the *only* elevator to the floor were about 20 minutes long EACH. It can be kind of a maze to locate and find the ONE elevator (you’re not allowed to take the stairs up, only on the way down) in the Met so if you’re impatient, be sure make the rooftop the sole objective of going to the Met for this trip and save the rest of the museum’s exhibits for another day. 🍸 The Cantor Roof Garden Bar features a few sculptural fixtures and a limited menu of specialty cocktails ($17), mocktails ($14), and snacks ($5-17). The cocktails are batch made so they are not particularly special nor the highlight of the roof garden bar. There is very limited seating so this is not a place to lounge and chill, but have a drink and take your photo against the backdrop of the boxwood bushes and skyline. ⏳Because the lines to get into the elevator may be long, I would suggest getting in line at least an hour and a half before closing to ensure you get sufficient time to enjoy the views. Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday 11 a.m.–4:15 p.m. Friday, Saturday 11 a.m.–8:15 p.m. Food and Drink - The Metropolitan Museum...
