tingly scalp at guifei spa 🧖‍♀️
I tried Guifei Head Spa for the first time after seeing tons of rave reviews and was honestly expecting to levitate or something. The space smelled amazing and relaxing as soon as we walked in, and the staff were friendly. We waited a few minutes before being taken into curtained off rooms where we were asked to remove our shirts and jewelry, but they kept us covered with towels. We got to choose from a few shampoo options. I picked the “degreasing” one since my hair gets oily, and it felt super tingly and refreshing. Most of the session was scalp scrubbing and a very light massage on the scalp, neck, and arms. Personally, I found the massage too gentle to actually relieve tension, but I didn’t ask for more pressure because I was too shy. The waterfall stream part was my favorite. I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep. At the end, they showed us our scalp on a magnifying camera (kind of cool), blow dried our hair, and offered hair oil. I used a Groupon which was $111 for two people before tip, which I think was a fair price for an hour spa service. My hair was left feeling a little dry, but that’s probably because I chose the degreasing shampoo. Overall, it was relaxing and unique, but a little gimmicky. Glad I tried it once, but probably wouldn’t go back.
